Gatto Design
Napa, California

Based in Napa, California, Gatto Design creates strategic and impactful designs for the wine, beer, and spirits industry. We work collaboratively with our clients to develop meaningful brand stories that are designed to resonate and sell.

With a speciality in package design, it is our job to communicate your product, brand and ethos as effectively as possible. We pride ourselves in taking a collaborative approach to discovering what resonates with your existing and potential audience. Through thoughtful conversation, sketching and concept design, we seek to visually capture the unique spirit of your brand. In addition to being passionate creatives, we readily navigate the logistical aspects of bringing a beverage package to life. Whether it’s labeling regulations, supplier lead times, or bottling line constraints—we proactively address these details to keep projects running smoothly. Last but not least, we always oversee the production phase to ensure the final product is executed to the highest quality.

Tim Gatto serves as Creative Director for Gatto Design. For ten years, he has specialized in brand development and packaging design for clients ranging from small-production distillers and winemakers to multinational beverage corporations. After completing formative roles at Auston Design Group and CF Napa, he struck out on his own in 2016. Tim devotes an enormous amount of care to visually convey each client’s story in a unique and compelling way. Tim probably takes design, wine, and wine design too seriously, but most people still find him quite fun to be around. Tim graduated with a B.A. in Communication Design from CSU Chico which may or may not have influenced his zest for life.

Before joining Gatto Design, Raquel worked on project management teams for Google’s Data Center Design and Engineering department and Catellus’ Mixed-Use Development division. As Project Manager, Raquel can be found drafting project plans, pulling vendor quotes, responding to client inquiries, and providing miscellaneous design support whenever the need arises. With a B.S. in Environmental, Policy, Analysis, and Planning from UC Davis, Raquel lacks formal design training. However, as a lifelong crafter, she might make you a clay miniature or hot-glue-constructed Halloween costume if she really likes you.

Both wine country natives, Tim and Raquel are continually inspired by the natural beauty of their surroundings and the entrepreneurial spirit shared by so many others who call the area home.
